Design Process
These are the steps we take to help our clients expand their business online-
There are many steps involved in creating a professional and unique website designed specifically for you. All the steps listed below are included in the Design Package price.
1. Ready to pursue a website? Send an email to set up an initial phone meeting or just give us a call at 860-481-4870.
Our initial conversation will be an introduction to each other. At this point, we am happy to answer any of your preliminary questions and also tell you more about how we work. If you are interested in having us work with you on your web site project, we can set up a meeting to discuss your objectives.
2. Web Planner Guide
This Planner Guide is a great tool, consisting of a series of questions that will assist you in identifying your goals and vision for your website. Your answers and information will be a springboard for further discussion which will help us determine your overall objectives. This planner will help us focus on the general feeling that you want portrayed on your website via colors, photo images and content. We’ll look at your site “holistically,” meaning text, images and design, and come up with creative solutions that will meet your specific goals. The information that you provide us with also helps us to develop an accurate quote for your web site project. The quote will outline the details of the project as discussed in our initial meeting. It will include details of the services we will provide as well as a time line and cost of the project. If we both feel comfortable with continuing, we’ll schedule a starting date and sign a website agreement. A 33% deposit will be due prior to starting work on the project.
3. In-Depth Discussion of your Business and Website Objectives
After we receive your completed Web Site Planner and we have signed a contract, we spend a great deal of time listening to you and learning about your area of expertise. We want to know what motivates, impassions and inspires you most about your business so that we can convey that excitement on your site. This information is crucial as it will set you apart from others! Based on your answers from this discussion and also from the planner, we’ll discuss your objectives and goals for your website and determine the direction we will go.
4. Domain Name and Website Hosting Assistance
If you have not yet established a Domain Name for your site, we will discuss different options and strategies for different names. Resources will be given for you to research names as well. If you need assistance choosing a web-hosting company, that can be provided. Both of these items can be done during the development of the website although we’d recommend getting your Domain Name ASAP as you do not want to miss your chance for that “perfect” name and have someone else snatch it!
5. Website Content
Your content for the site will be needed before we can start the design/development of your site. If you need assistance with this in order to best express your marketing message to your clients/customers, please discuss it with us and arrangements can be made for me to help you with this very crucial step.
Any content that you send to us for the site is read and reviewed if needed we provide suggestions, guidance and feedback for enhancing the experience for your readers and also for Search Engines strategizing. We will also discuss Metatag keywords, descriptions and page titles at this time as well. This basic search engine optimization is included in your package at no additional charge to you.
6. Design and Construction of the Home Page
Once we have the content completed and navigation determined, we’ll create the initial design for you to review and comment on. Based on your comments, we’ll fine-tune and/or revise the design. Up to 2 design samples will be provided. You will then give approval of the final design. At this point, the next 33% of payment is required.
Please note: All the designs will be viewable on our test server so that you can view them on the Internet.
7. Production of Website
Upon your approval of the initial design, the development and production of the site will proceed with the text formatted and in place. Once the pages are completed, the site will be posted on our test server for your review. Fine tuning will be done if necessary. A final review will be done and a written “stamp of approval” is given by you. At this point, final payment is required.
8. Your Site Posted on the Internet
Prior to it being viewable to your viewers, it will be tested for compatibility on the major, current browsers (Netscape 7.0 and above and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 and above, Mozilla Firefox, Safari). Once all testing is complete, the site “Goes Live!” we will set a link up on our site for the search engine “spiders” to find it. It is the best alternative to submitting it to the search engines. We find that it actually helps your site get indexed faster.
9. Maintenance of your Site
Where as most firms will pass the reins to their client’s as soon as the site is launched, we continue to make sure that your site is working for you. When everything has gone live for the public to view, the work is not done. We offer 3 months of free maintenance after the site goes live to make sure that you are satisfied with the results. If there are any minor changes that need to made or tweaks to the site to improve it, we are there to help you with them.
If after 3 months, you wish for us to continue to help keep your site updated, we offer maintenance packages as well as Search Engine Marketing packages. we can analyze, provide feedback and refine the site as your situation changes.
