3 awesome giveaways to help you grow your list

Written by Jenn Leave a Comment

As you probably know, everyone says the most important thing in your business is your list.

This is true. Whether it’s your email list, your customer list or an offline mailing list, it is the lifeblood of your business.

Because business isn’t just about the one-time sale, it’s about building relationships with people so they’ll buy from you more often as well as refer more business to you.

So how do you get people on those lists?

I don’t know of a single person who wakes up in the morning saying, “Wow, I can’t wait to sign up for another newsletter!”

It just doesn’t happen. 🙂

What they do think is that they have a problem or a pressing need, and if you can offer them something that will help them with that problem, chances are, they’ll be happy to trade you their contact information to receive it.

First off, you’ll want to figure out what that biggest problem or pressing need is and then create something for them that will help them solve it.

It doesn’t have to solve the entire problem, it could just cover a one particular issue or some suggestions on how you would help them.

This is just a sample, just a taste of what your services have to offer. It helps build credibility and trust and shows that you can help them with the bigger picture if they were to work with you.

Here are three different ideas for a “sample/taste” of your services or specialty.

1. A Free Report – Doesn’t need to be a book, just long enough to describe the problem, show them why it’s important to fix it, and a bit of the how to fix it. Usually about 6-12 pages. Don’t give away the farm. Save that for your paid product or service.

2. An Audio Download – Have you done a teleseminar or interview that could help them solve one of their needs or problems? You could record a session of you helping someone work through a particular issue that many of your clients’ have.

3. A Checklist – People love checklists. Not only are they easy to make, but it helps the person who downloaded it to take action.

These are examples of different things you can offer to encourage people to share their contact info with you so you can start to build a relationship with them.

They might not be ready to buy your products/services right away, but by keeping in touch with them regularly and offering them valuable content, they’ll get to know, like and trust you.

When they are ready, you’ll be the person they turn to when they need what you have to offer!

Do you have an offer set up already to get people on your list? If so, please comment in the box below. If not, which of the suggestions above do you think you’ll put together within the next couple of weeks? Get a bit of accountability by sharing below too. I’ll check in with you in a few weeks to see how it’s coming! 😉
