Online Business Directories – Are you listed?

Written by Jenn 1 Comment

directoryThis action tip is super easy and can be an simple way to reach more clients to boost your business.

Some search sites pull up business directory listings at the top of their results so having your business listed there is important.

Many times these sites are highly ranked so having your business website listed on there (i.e. a backlink to your site) can even boost your own website higher in the search rankings. 😉

Start by searching for – “your industry” directory “your area” on your favorite search engine.

Example: hairdresser directory ct

Don’t forget the general business directories such as http://www.manta.com/

Some business directories will let you list your business for free, others like Business.com charge for a listing. Depending on your business, you can decide if it is worth it to pay to be included in those larger directories.

Your “To Do” item for the week: Look up industry and/or geographically listed business directories and make sure your business is listed.

Review the listing to see that all the info is correct and the profile is filled out completely. Don’t forget to include your website link!
